Morrisons: 200 jobs cut
UK supermarket chain Morrisons announced plans to cut more than 200 head office jobs as part of a cost-cutting AI push in January 2025. The cuts affect all functions at its headquarters and represent around 8% of head office staff. The company explicitly stated it is implementing AI and automation to streamline processes and automate manual tasks. This marks the second round of job cuts at Morrisons in just over a month as CEO Rami Baitiéh works to reduce costs and pay down the company's £3.1bn debt.
